How to word a wedding invitation: examples you can copy
Clear wording in a few lines, from formal to relaxed, with the details guests need.

Good wording is short, warm and complete. A guest should be able to read it once and know who is inviting them, when, where, and how to reply.
What every invitation needs
The names of the couple, the date, the start time, the venue with its town, and how to reply. If there is a dress code or separate ceremonies (such as the poruwa ceremony and the reception), add them as their own lines.
A formal example
"Together with their families, [Name] and [Name] request the pleasure of your company at their wedding on Saturday, 14 November, at 10.00 a.m., at [Venue], [Town]. Reception to follow. Kindly reply by 1 November."
A relaxed example
"We are getting married, and we would love you to be there. Saturday, 14 November, 10.00 a.m. at [Venue], [Town]. Let us know if you can come by 1 November."
In Sinhala or Tamil
Write the invitation in the language your guests read most comfortably, or in two languages if the families differ. Digital invitations can carry Sinhala and Tamil text as easily as English, so you do not need to choose just one.
