When to send your digital wedding invitation
Too early and it gets buried, too late and guests have made other plans. A simple timeline that works.

A digital invitation can be sent in a minute, which makes it tempting to send it whenever it is ready. The timing still matters: it decides how many guests can say yes, and how many forget by the time the day comes.
Six to eight weeks before
This is the sweet spot for most weddings in Sri Lanka. Guests can plan leave from work, arrange travel and keep the date free, and it is close enough that nobody loses the message.
Ten to twelve weeks if guests travel
If family is coming from abroad, or from another part of the island, send earlier. Flights and leave are the slow parts, and your invitation is the thing they need to start them.
A reminder two weeks out
Send the same link again about two weeks before the day, with a short line such as "Looking forward to seeing you". Guests who meant to reply and did not will do it now, and everyone gets the venue and time again.
Set an RSVP deadline
Ask for replies by a date about three weeks before the wedding. It gives you time to give the caterer a final number, and it gives guests a reason to answer today instead of later.
